""O YOU who have attained faith! If any iniquitous person comes to you with a [slanderous] tale, use your discernment, lest you hurt people unwittingly and afterwards be filled with remorse for what you have done." (The Holy Qur'an 49:6)
Instead of condemning someone in ignorance, the facts must first be examined.
The FACTS:
Letter of Permission to live abroad with Aadam and Azora |
- Aadam Rashad Abdullah Hoffman and Azora Carissa Hoffman are not missing.
- Their mother, Jami Lynn Webber (Aning), authored a hand-written letter that gave explicit authority to their father to "travel and reside abroad with" both children. This letter was notarized before a NY State Notary Public. (See Picture)
- One month into our relocation overseas, Jami left a message on our answering machine. Jami offers to pack up the contents of our home and put everything into storage.
- We kept in regular contact with Jami and kept her updated about the kids' whereabouts, daily activities, medical issues, or anything of general interest. Including emails with pictures and audio messages from both kids. On May 20, 2008 Jami says that she's "glad to hear that the kids are adjusting well." (See Picture below of the email conversation.)
- Jami's phone number is/was 716-464-8128. The same number that all emails were sent to. Jami severed all ties around the end of October 2008. She stopped replying to emails and blocked her phone from receiving incoming calls. (See video below)
Email between Richard and Jami: 3 Months after we left the USA |
Jami's phone number 716-464-8128 (June 2008) |
From these five major pieces of evidence it is overwhelmingly clear that Jami is not being honest.
Jami knew that Aadam and Azora were relocating abroad and she was pleased to hear that they were transitioning well. She had our phone number, address, and email to contact us. We have always maintained a US phone number to make it easy for Jami and all relatives to reach us. Jami made a conscious decision to abandon her children and sever all ties with us. Jami Lynn Webber's (brief) List of LIES:
- We only went overseas for a "vacation."
- Jami told her family that the kids went for a weekend visit with their father.
- Jami last saw the kids in Buffalo on August 1, 2008 and Azora was wearing a pink jogging suit.
- Jami doesn't know where the kids are.
***Kids don't adjust for a vacation.***
So where exactly does Jami claim that they went for a vacation?
Answer: Her own Blog located at http://findazoraandaadam.blogspot.com/
Jami Aning claims that our relocation was a mere vacation. |
Jami then relates yet another version of events to her cousin, Darla. Jami tells some members of her family that the kids went for a visitation with their father "for the weekend" and she "hasn't seen them since".
Another version of Jami's convoluted and inconsistent tall tale is that she last saw Aadam and Azora on August 1, 2008. However, Aadam and Azora have never returned to the United States since they left in February 2008. This same date is repeated consistently on multiple missing kids websites.
Using a simple Google search, we find http://www.forthelost.org/family/hoffman.html
Allegedly last seen Aug 1, 2008 and Azora was wearing a pink jogging suit |
Another website that makes such a claim is https://www.findthemissing.org/cases/8156/0/
Allegedly last seen August 1, 2008 and wearing a pink jogging suit |
Jami claims to not know where the kids are. When my sister came to visit us in 2010, she took pictures of the trip and shared them openly. In fact, Jami had a copy and she featured these pictures on her facebook webpage!
What Jami has failed to report, time and again, is that we have always maintained the same exact phone number. Aadam and Azora are and always have been a simple phone call away. All she had to do is dial the phone and speak to them.
There weren't any mysterious vans with missing license plates and suspicious curtains, no private jets, no smoke and mirrors, as Jami may implore you to believe. We simply relocated, with her complete knowledge and written permission.
Perhaps it's time to ask Jami some basic questions:
- When is the last time she really saw Aadam and Azora? February or August 2008?
- Did they leave to relocate or for a vacation?
- Does she have their current phone number?
- If so, has she bothered to call it since 2008?
- Does she have proof that she's tried to call us anytime since late 2008?
- Has Azora really ever owned a "pink jogging suit" in her lifetime?
- Why did she wait almost 1 year to file the kids as missing if they only went on a "vacation" overseas?
- Which version of her story is true and why are there so many different versions?
- Why hasn't she tried to contact the kids recently, even after we re-confirmed our phone number and address with police 3 weeks ago?
